Debit Card is the type of card that deducts money directly from the designated Account for paying money for the purchased goods or services. You can also use the MTB Card on the ATM/CRM/POS machines with the MPU logo attached.
Dos and don’ts for using MTB Card
- Every eligible person over (18) years old can apply for the MTB Card by opening an account individually. (Application for the joint account is not allowed.)
- You can change your desired (6) digits of PIN code on the MTB ATM as soon as you receive the Card and the initial PIN number via message or email at your request to active your card . After changing the PIN code, you can check your remaining balance through the ATM/POS machines or you can also check it through the Mobile/Internet Banking systems if your bank account which is connected with the MTB Card is already applied for the Mobile/Internet Banking system. If you notice any deviations, you must contact the Bank immediately.
- Any amount of transfer, withdrawal or transactions with the Card will be deducted from the bank account of the Cardholder. If there are any service charges for using the Card issued by the Bank, they will be deducted automatically from the bank account of the Cardholder. The Cardholder needs to deposit the designated amount of money for the transfer, withdrawal, or transactions through the CRM machines and the branches of the MTB Bank. You cannot spend the amount of money that exceeds the amount of your bank account linked to your Card.
- The Cardholder cannot reveal or notify the PIN code issued by the Bank and the PIN code assigned by yourself to anyone else for your card security.
- The Card will be temporarily closed if you entered the wrong PIN code thrice.
- When you withdraw cash from the ATM machines, you will have to count the amount of cash received in front of the machines. If there are any discrepancies from the amount you received, you will have to notify the Bank immediately.
- The Cardholder can request the bank statements of the transfer, withdrawal, or transactions you made by visiting any branches of MTB Bank. The Cardholder can also take out the mini statement with the last (5) transactions you made through MTB ATM machines. If the bank account linked with the Card is already applied for the Mobile/Internet Banking system, you can also take out the statements for transfer, withdrawal, or transactions through the Mobile/Internet banking system.
- The Cardholder can request the bank statements of the transfer, withdrawal, or transactions you made by visiting any branches of MTB Bank. The Cardholder can also take out the mini statement with the last (5) transactions you made through MTB ATM machines. If the bank account linked with the Card is already applied for the Mobile/Internet Banking system, you can also take out the statements for transfer, withdrawal, or transactions through the Mobile/Internet banking system.
- If you found your lost Card back after notifying the Bank about the loss of your Card, you cannot reuse that Card.
- If you don’t take out your Card within (30) seconds after making a withdrawal at the ATM machine, the machine will automatically take your Card. When that happened, you will have to notify MTB Bank immediately and you can take out your Card by having a personal visit to the bank together with your original NRC Card.
- You shouldn’t use the broken Cards whatsoever and you can apply for the new Card by having a visit to the nearest branch of Myanma Tourism Bank. You will also have to pay the designated service charges for the Card renewal.
- If you forget your PIN code, you can apply for the renewal of the PIN-code through the nearest branch of Myanma Tourism Bank by submitting the designated service charges.
- If there is any kind of dispute regarding transactions, transfers, or withdrawals you made, the Cardholder will have to check the bank statements on a monthly basis and save all the receipts and vouchers of the transactions because the Chargeback Period is within (30) days starting from the date of use for domestic ATMs and within (60) days starting from the date of use for POS & e-commerce transactions.
- If you have any suspicions of your Card being stolen or lost or the fact that you forgot your PIN code or the fact that the confidential information regarding your Card is being exposed, you will have to contact the hotline number of MTB Bank: 09682682682 immediately. If only then, your Card will be temporarily locked in order to avoid being used by others. The MTB Bank shall not be liable for any of the disputes or transactions, transfers, or withdrawals being made before it receives the notification from the Cardholder.

Remarks: If it’s within OD Limit, the current accounts which are overdrawn, can be used for the MTB Card service.
